Leaving your positive mark on the world with a legacy gift to HI

Legacies in the form of planned giving ensure that your generosity reaches generations to come, while you and your family enjoy the benefits of smart financial planning. Such a gift could be your most powerful and lasting legacy, stretching your generosity to marginalized groups the moment help is needed.

If you choose to leave a planned gift to Humanity & Inclusion, we would be honored to recognize your extraordinary commitment as a member of our Legacy Society. As part of this special giving circle, you'll receive:

  • Invitations to insider briefings with program experts
  • An HI-branded gift of your choice
  • Personalized outreach with updates about the life-changing work your gifts make possible

To request more information, please complete this form or contact Elizabeth Johnson Sellers at e[email protected]. We will be in touch to discuss what planned giving could mean for you.

"HI's work is essential to improve the human condition. Fortunately, I'm in a position where I have more resources available than I am going to be using in my lifetime, and you can't take it with you!"

Ways to Give a Legacy Gift

A simple way to establish your legacy is to designate Humanity & Inclusion as a beneficiary of your will and trust. We partner with FreeWill to promote free will-writing options for those who may find value in such a service.

Leave a legacy gift to Humanity & Inclusion by designating HI as a beneficiary of your owned assets: bank and brokerage accounts, life insurance policies, commercial annuities, retirement plans, donor-advised funds and more.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic giving tool that allows you to contribute cash and other assets into an investment account that grows tax-free. You'll receive an immediate tax deduction for your contributions and can recommend grants to be distributed over time to Humanity & Inclusion. You can also name HI as a beneficiary of your fund.

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is for donors aged 70 1/2 and older to decrease their taxable income by donating directly from their IRA. You can contribute up to $100,000 a year, and it may satisfy your required minimum distribution. You can also name HI as a beneficiary of your retirement plan.
