A violent 7,4 magnitude earthquake has just hit Nepal. The epicenter of the tremor is located 83 km at the East of Katmandu and 68 km at the West of Namche Bazar, in the Everest region. It has been followed by several replicas.

At 12.35 pm (local time), the daily activities were at their pick. Handicap International teams were helping victims of the previous earthquake as they felt a strong shake.
6 expatriates and 68 local salaries of the HI mission in Nepal were managing, among others, distributions of kits for basic needs and were providing care to the injured. They are safe. They are waiting for the replicas to decrease in a secure place. The team is planning to make a quick assessment of the impact of this earthquake on the population in the following hours in order to redefine activities.
Score of after-shocks are still shaking Nepal today and make transportation difficult. These assessments will be led in the following areas: Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Banepa, Kavre and Katmandu, where Handicap International teams are already deployed.
The Nepalese people are still under the trauma of the 25 April earthquake. Mobilized since the first hours following the disaster, Handicap International emergency teams have helped several hundreds of people.
