A small act of kindness can go a long way!

There are so many ways that you can take action to support the forgotten victims of conflict. Whether writing to your member of Congress, collecting petition signatures, or holding your own fundraising event, you will be making a real difference.

Since 2009, individuals, clubs, and schools around the UK have taken hundreds of inspiring actions in support of our Stop Bombing Civilians campaign, raising tens of thousands of pounds for our work supporting the victims of conflict.

This year, as we move into a crucial phase of the campaign, your fundraising and campaigning efforts will have even more impact.

Stop Bombing Civilians

Explosive weapons tear apart lives, rupture families, and destroy whole communities. We need your help now to massively increase the signatures for the Stop Bombing Civilians petition and to write to your member of Congress about the campaign.

With major international meetings coming up that have been years in the making, it is vital that we hold the UK government to account to protect the most vulnerable families living with the daily risks of warfare.

OVER 29,485 CIVILIANS

Wafa's story

In July 2012, Wafa (above left) was badly injured when three bombs fell on her house in Homs, Syria.

“When I came out of the coma, my burns and my leg were terribly painful,” she says. “But this pain was nothing compared to what I felt when I learnt that learned that four of my children had perished. I could not protect them...”

The following year, while Wafa was four months pregnant, her husband was killed in another bombing. Wafa and her three daughters escaped to Jordan, where they received rehabilitation and psychological support from Humanity & Inclusion's team. Now, Wafa can move around on crutches, although still with a lot of pain. She hopes to find a peaceful life.

By taking action, you can help to provide rehabilitation for injured and people with disabilities like Wafa and protect more civilians in the future.

£500 COULD HELP OUR DEMINING TEAMS CLEAR 1,500M2 OF LAND.

Every year, thousands of people are killed or injured by a landmine or cluster bomb. Our courageous deminers clear contaminated land to prevent tragedies and allow communities to live without fear.

Bijou clears landmines with HI's team in the Democratic Republic of Congo. “I’m proud of what I do,” she says. “Villagers often thank us personally.”

1,500m2 is the size of an Olympic swimming pool. Could you help our deminers make an area safe again?

You can give hope and a future to children like Erada.

Erada, pictured below on the right, is just seven years old. This innocent little girl was horrifically injured in an air strike while she was playing outside her house in Yemen.

HI's rehabilitation team took care of Erada immediately after her leg was amputated. She was desperate, sad and frustrated. We gave Erada psychological support and started including her in social activities with other children. Our rehabilitation specialists have now begun working to build her physical strength so she can be fitted with a new leg. Slowly but surely, she is finding her smile again.

Together we can ensure that the voices of children like Erada are not forgotten.
