Step in to help life-changing work continue.

We're out millions of dollars in U.S. government funding with no end in sight. Your generosity can fill the gap and provide aid for those who need it most.

Step in to help life-changing work continue.

Your generosity will directly help people with disabilities, including survivors of disaster and conflict around the world who are too often forgotten.

The US government has frozen and—in some cases—terminated foreign aid programs. Without additional emergency assistance, the consequences will be catastrophic for our global neighbors.

With the January stop-work orders, more than 30 HI projects were halted around the globe. Since then, we’ve received waivers for some “life-saving” activities to resume. We are still awaiting more than $10 million in payments for work completed in 2024 plus costs for resumed activities. Unfortunately, we have received notices of terminations for 19 contracts from USAID, the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Labor. We need your help to continue critical services for people with disabilities in times of peace, conflict and disaster.

HI isn’t going anywhere. But, with these funding cuts, the number of people we can serve, and the volume of our activities will be impacted. That's why we need people like you to step in, to bridge those funding gaps to keep HI's activities as strong as ever for people who need them most. Here are some ways you can take action today:

  • Call your elected officials and ask them to restore and protect foreign assistance funding. Find their contact information.
  • Follow us on FacebookInstagramLinkedIn, and Bluesky. Be sure to like and share the stories of people impacted by these cuts.
  • Subscribe to our email list to receive the latest news from our projects and the people we serve, opportunities to advocate for change, alerts about emergency fundraising appeals, and more.
  • Become a First Responder. Your monthly gifts will support HI's emergency responses and provide ongoing support and care for people with disabilities around the world.
  • Explore all the ways you can give. In addition to secure online donations, we accept Qualified Charitable Distributions from IRAs, Donor Advised Fund grants, gifts of stock, planned legacy gifts and more.

Thank you to all of our generous donors from around the country!
