Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, years of brutal conflict have devastated the lives of tens of millions of people. Families are exhausted and desperate. Their homes have been destroyed by bombing, their hospitals smashed.
People in Afghanistan are terrified about the future and have nowhere to turn for help. In their time of need, the international community is turning it’s back.
And, with a cold winter looming, Afghanistan is on the brink of becoming the worst humanitarian crisis on Earth. 95% of people don't have enough food, and 23 million people are heading towards starvation. The next few months are going to be catastrophic.

HI's TEAM IN AFGHANISTAN IS TAKING ACTION
Our team in Afghanistan is providing desperately-needed emergency care, rehabilitation and psychological support, as well as educating vulnerable people about the risks from explosive weapons.
Our priority actions are:
- Physical rehabilitation (emergency care, physical therapy, and artificial limbs and braces, provision of mobility aids).
- Psychological and social support for injured or traumatized people.
- Risk education on explosive ordnance to protect civilians at risk of injury or death.
It is vital that we act quickly in the face of such a huge crisis, but we can’t do it without vital emergency funds.
Can we count on your support to help the people of Afghanistan?

Afghanistan: the humanitarian situation in the country keeps on deteriorating
Press Release | 28th July 2021, 12:00
Humanity & Inclusion knows from experience that an artificial limb or a wheelchair alone doesn’t change the life of a person living with a disability. Our approach to rehabilitation is based on the recognition of individual needs, taking into account a person’s individual situation, their environment and the local services available.
