3 YEARS OF WAR IN UKRAINE: HELP STILL URGENTLY NEEDED
Three years into the war in Ukraine, Humanity & Inclusion is still on the ground, working to ensure that no one is left behind. And we'll be there for as long as it takes.
"We are on the frontlines, delivering life-saving assistance to displaced families, people with disabilities, and those struggling to access the care they deserve. And with your support, we can ensure that no one faces this crisis alone."
- Antonina
Senior Inclusion Technical Officer, HI Ukraine
SINCE FEBRUARY 2022, HI HAS PROVIDED...
14,994 rehabilitation sessions.
5,219 assistive devices (crutches, arm slings, wheelchairs, etc.)
3,708 group and individual mental health education sessions.
7,691 explosive ordnance risk education sessions.
70 partner organizations with humanitarian logistics support.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE LIVING LIKE NOW
Around 14.6 million Ukrainians are in need of humanitarian assistance — that's 40% of the population still living in Ukraine. Among them are 2.1 million people with disabilities. Millions more are displaced. Those who have stayed in Ukraine face difficulties finding water, food, shelter, or health services, especially in remote, hard-to-reach areas under Russian control. Living in a warzone puts individuals in a constant state of stress, and millions need physical rehabilitation due to life-altering injuries.
"Of course, you can still hear the sirens, but that’s nothing compared to what we’ve experienced since February 2022. But in Ukraine, who can predict what will happen tomorrow?"

URGENT NEED FOR PHYSICAL REHABILITATION AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT
“We expect a huge need for rehabilitation.
There are thousands of injured people and many of these injuries can worsen or turn into permanent disabilities if people do not receive appropriate rehabilitation services such as physiotherapy and prosthetic fitting.
We know from responding to disasters in other countries that one of the heaviest legacies of this earthquake will be its psychological impact.
Surviving an earthquake can be a deeply traumatising experience - and it will be especially so for people who have already endured a decade of war in Syria.
Psychological first aid is an essential component of the emergency response.”
George Graham, Chief Executive of Humanity & Inclusion UK.
